Biographical Sketch:
Gregory William Branch, M.D., MBA, CPE is the Health Officer and Director of The Baltimore County Department of Health. Dr. Branch, a native of New York City, graduated Magna Cum Laude from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. He completed his training at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in the William Osler Internal Medicine Residency Program. In addition, Dr. Branch received his Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Baltimore Merrick School of Business. Dr. Branch has practiced medicine for over 15 years and has held multiple positions including Lead Physician and Medical Director of Laboratory Services at the Johns Hopkins Medical Services Corporation; Chief Medical Officer of Gerald Family Care in Washington, DC; Medical Director at Baltimore Medical System and Chief Medical Officer for Maryland Physicians Care (Medicaid) and the Maryland Health Insurance Program. Dr. Branch is a Board Certified Internist who is currently on the Faculty at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and the University of Maryland School of Nursing. He is nationally recognized as a Certified Physician Executive and a winner of the Daily Records’ 2008 Health Care Hero Award. In addition to his academic and professional achievements, Dr. Branch participates in multiple community activities including Executive Director and Co-Founder of Unified Voices of Johns Hopkins (community Gospel Choir), and President and Chairman of the Board of Directors for Project P.L.A.S.E. (People Lacking Ample Shelter and Employment). Dr. Branch, humble in his heart, is a member of the Huber Memorial Church, where Reverend P.M. Smith is Pastor and Servant. Dr. Branch is the proud parent of two sons, Byron Martin and Allen Bernard.
