Biographical Sketch:
As the Digital Communications Director at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Center for Tobacco Products (CTP), I work to reduce the burden of tobacco use in the United States by developing, enhancing and evaluating the use of web, social media, and mobile technologies to meet CTP’s mission. Before joining CTP, I worked at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on the Social Media Team. At CDC, I developed integrated social media strategies and innovative communication products for use in a variety of health communication campaigns, health marketing efforts and emergency responses, including the novel H1N1 pandemic, the Haiti Earthquake, and the Peanut Butter and Peanut Containing Product Recalls. Before working for CDC, I spent two years in the U.S. Peace Corps, working for the Jamaican Ministry of Health and the Kingston and St. Andrew Health Department. I hold Bachelor of Arts degrees in journalism and political science and a Master of Arts in communications.
