Biographical Sketch:
Mr. Beckley has 35 years of experience in integrating information technology in hospital environments. He began his career in 1971 at Meditech and for over 30 years has spent a major amount of time delivering enhanced computing technology at BIDMC and then Brigham and Women’s Hospital. In 1995 Mr. Beckley returned to work at the Beth Israel hospital and became Senior Scientist for the PaperChase MEDLINE database search department. In 1999 he joined the information systems staff of the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center where he worked as director of clinical research and development. Since 2003, after becoming President of PaperChase Inc, Bob offers both the MEDLINE database search on the web and software consulting to the medical community. Mr. Beckley received an Academic Appointment as an Associate in Medicine from Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA in 1983. His major research interests include Application of computers in medicine, and Architecture of complex medical systems. Since 1988 he has conducted seminars on the Clinical use of computers.
