B5: B5 - Viral Hepatitis Transmission in Health Care Settings: Strategies for Prevention and Control

Transmission of viral hepatitis in ambulatory care, long-term care and other settings is increasingly recognized. Outbreaks have affected hundreds of patients, and investigations are disruptive and resource intensive. This session will highlight key findings from recent outbreaks and present strategies to improve our ability to detect transmission and protect patients.
Learning Objectives: A. Outline strategies for hepatitis prevention for infants, children, adolescents, and adults. E. Identify and access communication, education, and training needs and available resources for viral hepatitis prevention and control; evaluate the effectiveness of education and training methods.
