H3: H3 - Integration into HIV Programs: The Role of AIDS Directors and AIDS Service Organizations

Overlapping risk groups, routes of transmission, and interventions make integration of viral hepatitis prevention activities into state and community based HIV programs a natural fit yet many challenges remain. Cross-program training, planning, counseling messages, referral services, vaccination strategies, funding and evaluation are all critical programmatic issues that must be addressed before fully integrating viral hepatitis interventions into HIV programs. In this session two state AIDS Directors and a staff member from an AIDS Service Organization (ASO) will describe the challenges and successful strategies to integrating hepatitis into their AIDS programs.
