Objective:
This poster session will provide an overview of the National Diabetes Education Program (NDEP), its products and resources. NDEP is a public-private partnership initiative cosponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institutes of Health, with the support of more than 200 partners organizations such as the State Diabetes Prevention and Control Programs, the National Medical Association, and Pan America . The intent of this unique partnership is to prevent or delay the onset of diabetes and reduce the illness and death caused by diabetes and its complications. The poster highlights NDEP products packaged for communication interventions for implementers for audiences such as community interventionists, ethnicity-specific audiences, the business community and age-specific audiences. This poster will feature NDEP resources for those specific audiences.Methods:
NDEP has reviewed material use and dissemination by its partner organizations to package its materials into core categories to address specific audiences. These audiences include implementers, community interventionists, community health workers, public health educators, diabetes educators, communication specialists, and the business community.Results:
Segmenting NDEP into packages assists our partners with using science and evidenced based materials to accomplish the goals and objectives of their programs.Conclusion:
Packaged materials for implementers, community interventionists, community health workers, public health educators, diabetes educators, communication specialists, and the business community.
