Biographical Sketch:
Angela Johnson currently serves as Program Manager for the Center for Community Based Health Disparities at My Brother’s Keeper, Inc. where she works to eliminate health disparities in African Americans nation-wide. Her responsibilities include managing national health disparities programs to ensure project deliverables are accomplished according to grantor specifications; implementing capacity building assistance initiatives geared toward building program infrastructure within community-based organizations and disseminating lessons learned and best practices regarding cardiovascular disease and cancer prevention. She has over 8 years experience in community-based health education, communication, and promotion.
Angela has disseminated best practices and lessons learned during national health summits including the American Public Health Association, the Society of Public Health Educators, and the Centers for Disease Control. Areas of expertise include cardiovascular disease and cancer prevention, cultural competence and program development, implementation, and evaluation.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Public Policy and Administration with an emphasis in Healthcare Administration from Jackson State University.
