Biographical Sketch:
I’ve been the Manager of the Delaware Diabetes Prevention and Control Program since 2000. Previously, I was District Manager of the American Diabetes Association, Delaware Affiliate from the years 1995 to 2000.
I currently collaborate extensively with community, health professional and state agency partners in developing and implementing state and national initiatives to control and prevent diabetes in Delaware.

INTERVENTION IMPLEMENTATION:
The development of a comprehensive diabetes infrastructure
within the Federally Qualified Health Centers
The development of both inpatient and outpatient State Diabetes Uniform Treatment Guidelines
Initiated worksite diabetes awareness and management program
Instituted good eye and foot care project
Provided community outreach programs for high risk populations
Implemented a statewide media campaign
Organized Healthy Nutrition Workshops
Implemented a statewide flu campaign
Established the Delaware Library Diabetes Resource Centers
Provided oversight for school nurse diabetes updates
Provided oversight for the development of a 90-hr curriculum school nurse
cluster
Implemented community blood screenings
Developed the Emergency Medical Diabetes Fund
I have many years of experience speaking to government groups, health professionals, social service professionals, business leaders and consumers on the prevalence, management and prevention of diabetes. In addition, I’ve been an active community leader in a small Delaware town.
