Biographical Sketch:
Dr.Balluz began her CDC career in 1995 as an EIS officer assigned to the National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH) and later as an epidemiologist where she lead several epidemiological investigations at the national and international level, and provided techincal assitance to many partners including state health departments, FDA, EPA, WHO and ministeries of health in foreign countires. In 2002 Dr. Balluz joined the Behavior Surveillance Branch at CDC as the section chief for Behavior Risk factor surveillance system operation and data management section. At present she is the branch chief for the Behavior surveillance Branch.
Prior to CDC Dr. Balluz served as a public health epidemiologist supervisor for five years at Louisiana Department of Health, and as health specialist consultant for New Orleans Department of Health.
