Biographical Sketch:
Work in EPB of DDT as a health scientist since 2002. Projects include systematic review, social determinants of diabetes, and depression and diabetes.
I started to work in the Epidemiology and Statistics Branch of Division of Diabetes Translation, Centers for Diseased Control and prevention in Altanta since 2002, first as an ORISE Research Fellow, then as a health scientist. I led the systematic review work team from 2005 to 2008. I lead and participated in many projects which addressed CDC public health missions. Projects involved include systematic reviews of: the effectiveness of drug intervention on weight loss, lifestyle intervention on diabetes prevention, interventions on health related quality of life among diabetic population, interventions on diabetic retinopathy screening, cost-effectiveness of intervention to diabetes control and preventions, community health workers on diabetes control, and A1C level and diabetes incidence. I also lead many projects which focused on the social determinants of diabetes, including how access to health care affected the detection of diabetes, how social support affected diabetes survival, how physical activity affected prevalent diabetes, and how depression affected diabetes survival.
