Highlighted Experiences: 2009-present – Research Assistant, School of Nutrition, Ryerson University, Toronto, ON. Supervisor: Dr. Enza Gucciardi 2007-2009 – Research Assistant, Women’s Health Program, Toronto General Hospital, Toronto, ON. Supervisor: Dr. Enza Gucciardi Current Research Activity: Responsible for systematic literature review in investigating effective diabetes self-management education programs for women of colour. Responsible for in exploring primary care physicians’ attitudes and barriers to patient referral to diabetes education programs in Southern Ontario. Her current undergraduate independent project is to explore patient attitudes and barriers to attendance in diabetes education programs in Southern Ontario. Dissemination Activity: Co-presenter of "Preliminary overview of effective diabetes self-management education intervention components for women of colour" in the Faculty of Community Service: Scholarly, Research, and Creative Poster Event 2009, Ryerson University, Toronto, ON.
