Biographical Sketch:
2008-present -- Epidemiologist, Montana Diabetes Project, Montana Department of Health and Human Services, Helena, MT Responsible for diabetes surveillance and program evaluation. Co-author on several papers describing the successful implementation of the Diabetes Prevention Program curriculum in several communities across Montana. Presented Montana's work on diabetes prevention at the 2009 American Diabetes Association Scientific Sessions in New Orleans, Louisiana (oral presentation). Presented the burden of gestational diabetes in Montana, and a literature review of risk to mother and child to Maternal and Child Health professionals, in Billings, Montana. Author of many burden documents and surveillance reports, highlighting the prevalence of diabetes, it's risk factors and complications resulting from the disease. 2008 co-winner of the Governor's Award for Excellence in Performance, awarded for Montana Diabetes Project's work on diabetes prevention.
