2008-present – Chronic Disease Epidemiologist, Florida Department of Health, Division of Disease Control, Bureau of Epidemiology, Tallahassee, FL. 2002-2008 – Administrator, Diabetes Prevention and Control Program, Florida Department of Health, Division of Family Health Services, Bureau of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, Tallahassee, FL. 1998-2002 – Data Analyst, Florida Department of Health, Division of Disease Control, Bureau of Epidemiology, Tallahassee, FL. 1994-1998 – Coordinator, Childhood Lead Poisoning Surveillance Program, Florida Department of Health, Division of Environmental Health, Bureau of Environmental Epidemiology, Tallahassee, FL. 1999 – present (intermittently) – Adjunct Instructor, Florida A&M University, College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Institute of Public Health, Tallahassee, FL Responsible for chronic disease study designs, data analysis and interpretation, data dissemination, and technical assistance. Use data from a variety of sources, including Vital Statistics, Hospital Discharge, Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, Florida Youth Tobacco Survey, Florida Cancer Data System, and special health surveys (2008-present). Responsible for statistical software course syllabus development, classroom instruction, and student evaluation for Master of Public Health students (1999-present, intermittently). Responsible for grant writing, program administration, staff supervision, budget management, contract management, work plan development, routine reporting, cooperative agreement management, partner engagement, program advocacy, and health education for the Florida Department of Health, Diabetes Prevention and Control Program (2002-2008). Author or coauthor of seven publications and book chapters related to chronic disease issues. Author or coauthor on over 15 department publications. Numerous presentations at scientific meetings. Numerous academic and professional honors/awards. Currently, mentoring two graduate students in public health. Past mentor for more than 10 graduate students.
