Biographical Sketch:
2006-present: Health Program Specialist – Utah Diabetes Prevention and Control Program (UDPCP)
Darin has been a Health Program Specialist with the Utah Diabetes Prevention and Control Program since 2006. In this capacity his responsibilities include serving as Coordinator for the Utah Health Plans Partnership, Coordinator for the Utah Diabetes Practice Recommendations (UDPRs), and serving as the DPCP representative on the Health Systems Work Group at the Utah Department of Health in the Bureau of Health Promotion. He works closley with diabetes educators while overseeing the Utah State Certified Diabetes Self Management Programs. Darin is also responsible for ensuring employers wanting to initiate diabetes intervention into a worksite wellness program are given the tools and materials needed. In addition, Darin also oversees school based diabetes activities.
Darin received his Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) status in 2004
