Biographical Sketch:
2002-present – Assistant Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology, University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA 2000-2002 – Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Completion of residency programs in Internal Medicine (University of Colorado) and Preventive Medicine (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill) Has led the development of clinical programs translating the Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) Lifestyle Intervention into the primary care setting. Initial program focused on developing a clinical delivery system for a group-based version of the DPP curriculum. Subsequently, led the development of an online version of the program, with funding from the US Department of Defense, in coordination with the University of Pittsburgh Diabetes Institute. Author or coauthor of numerous peer-reviewed publications on obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular prevention. Numerous presentations at scientific meetings.
