Biographical Sketch:

Responsible for general administration and oversight of the Reproductive Health Program that has several components including: WeeCare-a case management program for high-risk pregnant women with Public Employees Health Plan, family planning and prenatal contracts with local health departments, Perinatal Mortality Review Program, PRAMS (Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System. Management of nine personnel, both clerical and professional staff to coordinate above program activities. Primarily responsible for oversight of the federal PRAMS grant. Also responsible for contracts and memoranda of agreement with local health departments, community health centers and other agencies with which we have collaborative relationships. Serves as Reproductive and Women’s Health resource for the Department of Health through interfacing with other programs in the Department on common program issues.
Perinatal Mortality Review (PMR) Coordinator
January 5, 1995 to March 2000
Responsible for developing and implementing the process for review of maternal, fetal and infant deaths in Utah. Program involves ongoing analysis of vital statistics data to identify trends, areas and factors impacting perinatal mortality in Utah. In addition, medical record abstraction of pertinent data for all pregnancy associated maternal deaths, infant deaths due to perinatal conditions collected and summarized. Coordination of PMR committee, a group of perinatal health care providers who participate to hear death reviews and help to identify recommendations for strategies that may prevent future perinatal deaths.

Staff Nurse Perinatal/Well baby Unit: Delivery of direct nursing care to Mothers and their newborns. The patient population at this institution included a high percentage of high-risk clientele. Working with this population provided me with the opportunity to learn maternal/neonatal pathophysiology and treatment of obstetrical complications.

Certified Bradley childbirth educator: Developed and taught a six-week series of classes in my home for private clients. Gained proficiency in marketing, presenting and group dynamics.
