Biographical Sketch:
Melanie Wallentine is the new health program specialist for the Utah Diabetes Prevention and Control Program. In this capacity, she oversees the Utah Diabetes Telehealth Series. She also manages the state-certified diabetes education programs. She also works with the program’s mini-grants offered to community-based organizations. She formerly was the Adult Viral Hepatitis Prevention Coordinator. She worked with the Utah Hepatitis C Program, where she provided regular HCV educational and training sessions and presentations to a variety of audiences. She was the liaison for various public and private stakeholders. She coordinated prevention efforts, including trainings for HCV providers and consumers. Prior to this position, she was the Reproductive Health Promotion Specialist for the Utah Department of Health. Here she coordinated SIDS activities and services through Utah and provided SIDS education through presentations, writing articles and press releases, and other materials.
