Biographical Sketch:
Jun-Aug 2009 -- ASPH / CDC Intern, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta, GA 2008-2009 -- Research Assistant to Dr. Narayan, Emory University, Atlanta GA 2007-2008 -- Research Assistant to Dr. Cunningham, Emory University, Atlanta GA Primary author of a paper regarding the use of consumer health informatics in public health, currently under review. Drafted a D43 institutional training grant proposal (2008) to fund an Emory-India joint training program in Cardio-metabolic Disease Epidemiology, Prevention, and Translation, which is now funded. Prepared an R01 application (2009) for research examining early risk factors for diabetes and cardiovascular disease in young adult South Asian and Chinese immigrants, under review. Studied child obesity and its social consequences in elementary school children; presented findings at the NAASO conference, 2008. Inducted to the Delta Omega Honorary Society for scholarship and leadership in public health.
