Biographical Sketch:
Over 15 years of leadership interaction with ethnic communities of Utah Develop surveys to assess PI community readiness for health programs Identified leaders within ethnic communities for collaboration in projects Conduct outreach to needy families within the ethnic communities Develop and collaborated multi-ethnic projects and groups Develop partnership programs with federal, state, local agencies & community Organize training programs to increase community knowledge on current issues Develop and implement annual leadership conferences for community / students Train and supervise 7 employees and hundreds of volunteers Coordinate PI participation in the Ethnic Village for SLC Winter Olympics Recruit & trained committee members on goals on projects and activities Develop community parenting classes for Tongans and PI Community Produce & maintain the Polynesian Against Tobacco Committee Create and maintain administration of several Scholarship Funds Assisted in creating scholarship pageant for young women Develop Diabetes Today & Pacific Islander in Utah program Develop Tongan Against Tobacco program Representative of Pacific Islander community on boards and committees Develop retention strategies for increase graduation of PI students Develop & implement PI community award & recognition programs Develop anti-tobacco ad campaign Identify families and students with special problems / needs and assist
