Biographical Sketch:
As an Associate Director of Public Health at the American Optometric Association, my work involves many public health areas such as Healthy Eyes Healthy People ® Program and diabetes related issues. As an APHA member, I actively participate in their VCS and CHPPD activities where we collaborate with optometrists, non-profit directors, policy analysts, health economists, educators, global health professionals and other stakeholders. I encourage through our HEHP program to increase our combined capacity to make a substantive impact on public health and health policy by utilizing our interprofessional collaborations, and by promoting the HEHP program that is receptive to the full scope of public health, from healthy vision 2010 perspectives. I have two poster presentations at the APHA 2009 Annual Meeting on Healthy Eyes Healthy People ® Program.
