Biographical Sketch:
Dr. Janice Zgibor is a pharmacist and Epidemiologist. She is an Assistant Professor of Epidemiology at the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health. She is also Director of Evaluation at the University of Pittsburgh Diabetes Institute. Dr. Zgibor’s primary research interests are complications in diabetes, mathematical modeling of complication risk, cost-effectiveness analyses, diabetes education and health systems research. Dr. Zgibor has conducted extensive research on the implementation of the Chronic Care Model from the health systems, provider, and patient perspectives. Dr. Zgibor is currently conducting research in complication risk modeling, cost-effectiveness of the Chronic Care Model, and implementation of the Chronic Care Model in primary care practices located in rural southwestern Pennsylvania. Dr. Zgibor has more than 30 peer reviewed publications in these fields.
