Biographical Sketch:
Jeanie Tse, MD, FRCPC, is a psychiatrist and the Director of Integrated Health at the Institute for Community Living (ICL). She provides psychiatric care in ICL’s MICA day treatment program, child and family clinics, and school-based mental health programs. She is a co-author of the Diabetes Self-Management and Healthy Living Workbooks, and is the Medical Director of the NYS Health Foundation-supported Diabetes Co-morbidity Initiative. She is also the current president of the American Association of Psychiatric Administrators and American Association of Community Psychiatrists New York Regional Chapters. This year, Dr. Tse has had the honor of being a National Council for Community Behavioral Health Psychiatric Leader. She has published research evaluating the effectiveness of cognitive behavioral therapy and social skills training groups for adolescents with disruptive behavior and autism spectrum disorders with collaborators at McGill University. Her work has been presented at meetings of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and American Psychological Association. She continues to lecture at Columbia University and NYU, as well as in the community. Her main interest lies in “bridging the gap” between academic psychiatry and the clinical reality of disadvantaged communities.
