Biographical Sketch:
Roger graduated from Pacific Union College in Angwin, California in 1998, receiving his B.S. in Foods and Nutrition. Roger then completed his AP4 dietetic internship at Hughley Memorial Hospital in Ft. Worth, Texas and subsequently passed the credentialing exam for registered dietitians. Roger has worked at several Southern California hospitals as a clinical dietitian where he gained experience in the areas of medical nutrition therapy and diabetes education. Roger graduated in June 2006 with his master’s degree in International Public Health from Loma Linda University and is a candidate for the degree of Doctor of Health Sciences from Nova Southeastern University which he will complete in the Spring of 2010.
Roger joined the California Diabetes Program in 2005. He served as the chair of the Interventions Focus Area of the Diabetes Primary Prevention Initiative (DPPI) and is currently the lead for health systems and primary prevention interventions for the California Diabetes Program.
