Biographical Sketch:
Jacqueline Tompkins is the Arthritis Coordinator for the California Arthritis Partnership Program, which is committed to improving the quality of life of individuals affected by arthritis and other rheumatic conditions through increased awareness of the importance of physical activity and self-management, and increased access to evidence-based interventions. Serving in this capacity for over two years, Ms. Tompkins works with internal and external partners in the areas of program development, program implementation, community organization, and health education/communication. Previous work experience includes health and wellness promotion in a variety clinical, worksite, and community settings; working most recently as a Fitness/Wellness Program Coordinator for a continuing care retirement community at one of Northern California’s leading provider of senior services. Ms. Tompkins graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology with minors in gerontology and psychology; she earned an MPH with an emphasis in community health from Walden University. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist and has attended leader training for the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program (CDSMP), Fall Proof™ Balance and Mobility Program, and the Arthritis Foundation Exercise, Self-Help Programs.
