2008-Present -- President and CEO, Diabetes Health and Wellness Institute, Baylor Health Care Systems, Dallas, Texas 1993-Present -- Consultant for Wellness, Diabetes Management and Care, Men’s Sexual Health, and Business Management, Big Picture Health, LLC 1988-2008 -- Wellness Program Manager, Botsford Hospital, Botsford Center for Lifestyle Management, Novi, Michigan. Responsibilities: Manager of Outpatient Diabetes Education, and other chronic disease programs such as COPD/Asthma, and prostate disease. Develop, market and implement health education programs. 1978-1987 -- Clinical Coordinator for Nursing Education, Michigan Osteopathic Medical Center; Detroit, Michigan 1985-1987 --Clinical Nursing Instructor, Oakland Community College, Highland, Michigan 1984-1986 -- Nursing Instructor, Wayne County Community College; Detroit, Michigan 2008-2011, National Diabetes Education Program, CDC and National Institute of Health 2006-2008 --President of the American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) 1998 -- Chaired National Task Force, Men and Diabetes, AADE 1994-1997 -- Board of Directors, American Diabetes Association Certified Diabetes Educator Delivered nearly 1000 presentations worldwide over the past 15 years to patient and professional audiences on all topics of diabetes care. Invited speaker for the opening of the Johnson & Johnson Diabetes Institute in Beijing, China in 2008. Conducted presentation with U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, Tommy Thompson at the National Press Club. "A National Blueprint for Diabetes" in 2006. Authored more than 50 articles in both patient and peer-reviewed journals on diabetes education and co-authored the American Diabetes Association publication "Sex and Diabetes for Him and Her ." Conducted media tours and been the guest speaker on numerous radio and television programs. Numerous awards for Diabetes Education including: Diabetes Advocate of the Year, American Diabetes Association, 2001 Certificate of Excellence in Diabetes Education, Michigan Department of Community Health, 2002 Most Accomplished Award, Michigan Organization of Diabetes Educators, 2008
