Biographical Sketch:
Jerry Franz is a health communications specialist with more than 30 years experience in the practice of communcations and social marketing. He has worked in both the private and non-profit sectors in planning and research, message and campaign development and implementation, and program evaluation in diabetes and cardiovascular disease. For eleven years, from 1993-2004, Jerry served as Vice President, Communications, for the American Diabetes Association. Currently he works as a consultant and directs communications for the Medicare Diabetes Screening Project, a coalition of more than 20 organizations that promotes the availability of Medicare's benefits for diabetes screening. For the past three years and currently, Jerry also is a professorial lecturer in the School of Public Health and Health Services at The George Washington University, where he teaches a health communication class to students in the MPH program.
