Biographical Sketch:
2008-present : Chronic Disease Program Manager, New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, Trenton NJ Provide assessment, policy development and assurance that the burden of diabetes, asthma, CVD and other chronic diseases in New Jersey will be reduced. 2007: Director of Social Services, AIDS Resource Foundation for Children, Newark NJ Manage direct service employees and service HIV infected individuals and families. 2004 - 2007: Director of Prevention Education, AIDS Center of Queens County, Queens, NY Managed 20 staff and a variety of HIV prevention programs including testing, community education programs for subpopulations at risk for infection. Develop reports for CDC, state level and city level funders. 2003-2004: Director of Advocacy, Latino Commission on AIDS, NYC, NY Meet with health officials, legislators and advocates related to the Latino community in an effort to advance prevention education and policy issues regarding federal, state, and local legislation. Experience includes years of program management, community interventions, outreach, advocacy, direct service and working with disparate populations. Coordinated conferences and projects including development of resource directories, provider and community training. Joined the NJDPCP in 2007 after 15 years in the HIV/AIDS field.
