Biographical Sketch:
Co-Principal Investigator: NCMHD P-20 grant testing two different diabetes self-management (DSM) programs in a large e health care organization in Central Texas serving large populations of minority and rural residents, comparing outcomes in order to evaluate their efficacy for reducing health disparities.
Principal Investigator: Lichtenstein Foundation grant: Testing the Implementation and Effectiveness of a Low-Literacy Diabetes Self-Management Education Kiosk.
Co-PI on a five-year CDC-funded study investigating better strategies for implementing both clinical and community-based best practices for diabetes prevention and management.
PI: Chronic Disease Management in Rural Areas funded by HRSA and the Office of Rural Health Policy examining challenges faced by health plans that provide chronic disease management in regions with large rural populations.
Co-PI CTSA grant proposal for the Texas A&M Health Science Center. Dr. Bolin and SRPH, along with Texas A&M HSC College of Medicine submitted a 5-year CTSA grant application to the NIH to develop a clinical translational research program in rural and underserved regions of Texas.
