BACKGROUND:
Many states are embarking on the implementation or full deployment of their immunization regsitry. Its been proven that sharing successes and lessons learned is an effective way in which states can facilitate a deployment. The state of Indiana started implementation in Jan 2002 with the objective of addressing both the public and private sectors. Through an accelerated planning and implementation process, Indiana has been able to deploy a regsitry web application, initiate a private sector marketing campaign, create enrollment brochures/packets, conduct training and help desk programs, implement three application upgrades, conduct numerous user group meetings, etc. Current numbers at the time or writing the abstract would be 34 enrolled sites, 850 million patients, and over 5.5 million shots. Throughout this process there have been many successes and lessons learned that all states can take advantage of.
OBJECTIVE(S):
Share valuable lessons learned and strategies with states that are planning or deploying their immunization regsitry.
