BACKGROUND:
QS Technologies has been developing user-friendly, public health software since its inception in 1979. Feedback from users has been the basis for designing user-friendly data input and help screens.
OBJECTIVE(S):
Design a Web-based Immunization Registry that is easy to navigate, intuitive, simple to use and requires minimal help.
METHOD(S):
A Web-based Immunization Registry with Help System was designed and compared to other available products. Navigation, ease of use and help systems were compared to evaluate features that encourage user acceptance.
RESULT(S):
Products will be presented that demonstrates features of product design. Comparisions will be presented with other industries that employ similar technology.
CONCLUSIONS(S):
User buy-in can be increased and errors reduced by improving user interfaces and providing intuitive, user-friendly help systems.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Products that provide intuitive, user-friendly design are more likely to promote user acceptance.
