BACKGROUND:
The success of the Georgia Registry of Immunization Transactions and Services (GRITS) is due to the assembly of a diverse and qualified team.

OBJECTIVE:
Identify the composition needed for a successful implementation team and combine with the strategy to utilize the unique talents of each member. Deploy external resources and tools to equip the team members for success.
Constantly monitor success criteria to enable proactive management.

METHOD:
Different backgrounds, individual perspectives and diverse talents pulled together by effective leadership enabled the team to find innovative solutions to the problems encountered during implementation. Fresh ideas were developed by combining state employees, contracted consultants and other strategic partners.

RESULT:
The successful roll out of the Georgia Immunization Registry, on time and on budget.

CONCLUSION:
The right people, with the right skills, in the right place, at the right time, leads to VICTORY.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
To illustrate the importance of the team concept in the implementation of a statewide immunization registry system. Team composition, diversity of perspectives and effective team leadership are the keys to creative issue resolution.
