AIRA Education Committee, Today and Tomorrow

BACKGROUND:
The goal of the NIP Immunization Registry Strategic Plan 2002-2007 is: Educate stakeholders about the use and benefits of IIS. AIRA Education Committee will play a central role in this by,
• Working closely with CDC and ECBT to plan and develop education strategies that include identification of stakeholder education needs as they relate to the key focus areas of the strategic plan.
• Facilitating the implementation of identified education strategies, working closely with ECBT and the CDC.
• Expanding its current efforts at stakeholder education through the development of resources, including toolkits and guides, Web site postings and newsletters.

OBJECTIVE:
To share with the Registry community current education strategies in place, describe planned strategies for future deployment and solicit from the conference participants their comments and suggestions on educational activities.

METHOD:
By describing the various educational strategies implemented and to be implemented, educate people about these activities and provide a forum for feedback and participation

RESULT:
Further elevate awareness of the AIRA Education Committee and the NIP Immunization Registry Strategic Plan 2002-2007 and enhance their effectiveness.

CONCLUSION:
As is noted in the NIP Immunization Registry Strategic Plan 2002-2007, education is a critical role in every initiative. This then is a critical element of all registry activity.

To better understand the role of education and the AIRA Education Committee in registry development and deployment.
