Ready, Set, Register! Assessing Provider Readiness

BACKGROUND:
The Childhood Immunization Registry Partnership (ChIRP) project is utilizing a three (3) year service grant to link urban and rural immunization providers in Fresno County to the Central Valley Immunization Information System (CVIIS). The Childhood Immunization Registry Partnership facilitates these linkages by providing necessary computer equipment, Internet linkages, data entry, technical assistance and training to Fresno County immunization providers participating in CVIIS.

OBJECTIVE:
To assess physician/clinic readiness for immunization registry participation. Provide technical recommendations and equipment for registry participation.

METHOD:
Technology needs and recommendations are determined through site visits and needs assessments conducted by Program Manager and Information Systems Specialist/Program Manager.
Recommendations may include computer hardware or system upgrades, Internet connections, and software training.

RESULT:
Current data,including number of provider sites, providers, and users will be shared at this presentation.

CONCLUSION:
Personalized assessments of provider readiness encourages greater acceptance and builds stronger relationships with providers.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Participants will understand how effectively conduct office computer assessments.
