B5: Rotavirus Vaccines: The Old and the New

This workshop will describe a survey of pediatricians for their opinion whether they would now use of the first rotavirus vaccine which was withdrawn, or a safer new rotavirus vaccine, the vaccine coverage achieved with the first licensed rotavirus vaccine useful for calculating the attributable risk of adverse reactions, and a progress report on the safety, efficacy and immunogenicity of a promising new rotavirus vaccine.
Learning Objectives: Understand the issues related to withdrawing from the market the first licensed rotavirus vaccine, and progress toward a new, safe rotavirus vaccine.
