This session will examine vaccine safety concerns and beliefs among vaccine safety activists, parents, and physicians. Second, the results from a national survey of pediatricians and family physicians regarding their experiences with vaccine safety issues will be discussed. Finally, the results of a national survey of parents regarding their concerns and beliefs about vaccine safety and immunization information will be described. The implications of these findings for vaccine benefit-risk communication will be examined.
