C17: Lessons from the Field Part 2: Innovative Reminder/Recall and community education strategies in Urban/Minority Populations

This workshop is a continuation of a preceding workshop titled ALessons from the Field: Tailoring Immunization Strategies to Urban and Minority Communities@. This workshop will describe and demonstrate the steps to customizing and adapting reminder/recall, education and outreach strategies among private providers, hospitals, community health centers and grassroots organizations in urban Ahard to reach@ communities. Participants will receive Ahands on@ training on how adapt the various strategies to their own geographic environment. Participants will receive implementation guides and reminder system forms and materials.
Learning Objectives: Participants will learn how to 1) How to identify and address parent and provider barriers to timely immunizations; 2) How to address missed appointments among children living in urban and poor communities.; 3) How to adapt, implement and maintain a simple provider-based reminder and outreach program.
