B1: Assuring Vaccine Safety — Basic Course for a Complex Issue

This session will provide a comprehensive course on vaccine safety. Join us for an interesting and informative presentation and bring your vaccine safety questions. The course will cover practical information for health care providers and public health workers. Areas that will be discussed include: the Clinical Immunization Safety Centers (CISA), the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), the Vaccine Safety Datalink project (VSD) and vaccine risk communications.
Learning Objectives: Participants in this workshop will be able to describe specific vaccine safety activities and requirements for identifying, reporting and communicating vaccine risks and adverse events.
