C5: Medicaid and Employer Sponsored Health Plan Coverage For Adults Vaccines: How Complete and How Important?

The Institute of Medicine (IOM) stated that high-risk adults under 65 present the greatest challenge to adult immunization. While it is well known that underinsured adults receive less preventive care, little is known about how important complete coverage is to the acceptance of vaccines, and how well employer sponsored health plans and Medicaid provide this coverage. In this workshop, presenters will discuss the results of three new studies that address these important issues.
Learning Objectives: After attending this session, participants should be able to estimate the extent to which employer sponsored health plans cover adult vaccinations.
