G1: Impact of Routinely Recommended Childhood Vaccine Supply Shortages

During 2001-2003, there were shortages of many vaccines in the recommended childhood immunization schedule. The presentations in this workshop will describe the impact of vaccine shortages and temporary changes in the recommended schedule. Survey results will describe 1) changes in vaccine ordering and distribution by immunization programs and vaccine administration by providers, 2) efforts to recall children for catch-up vaccinations, and 3) the timeliness of completing all recommended doses of vaccines.
Learning Objectives: After this session, participants will be able to discuss the impact of the vaccine supply shortages on immunization programs, provider and children.
