A9: Perinatal Hepatitis B Prevention Programs

This workshop is intended to provide summary information from an evaluation of the perinatal hepatitis B program conducted in late 2003. Successful programmatic strategies and costs of implementing the program will be discussed. In addition, two state programs will discuss their efforts to increase the number of HBsAg-positive pregnant women reported to the health department and effective strategies to reduce barriers to case management.
Learning Objectives: After attending this workshop, participants should be able to factors that improve identification and case management of infants born to HBsAg-positive women.
