Project Description:
MOBI incorporates peer to peer education strategies to educate immunization providers statewide. One hundred public health immunization nurses are trained as MOBI Trainers. A curriculum is developed and presented to the target audience of physicians, nurses, medical assistants and office based personnel. A multimedia approach featuring a slide presentation, print and lecture format allows the program to be tailored to numerous audiences. Trainers are presented with a comprehensive trainer's manual with presenter's notes and all course materials, as well as MOBI Resource Packs for audience members. An annual Train- the- Trainer Workshop is provided for trainers, followed by additional workshops and updates throughout the year.
Results/Lessons Learned:
Nearly 1800 programs have been presented since MOBI's start in 1996, with close to 400 programs presented in 2005. The MOBI program has proven to be a successful method for conveying immunization information to immunization providers statewide.
