By the ebnd of the presentation participants will be able to understand the steps that may be taking allowing Registries, Health Organizations, and Insurance Organizations to work together to develop a program to address adolescent immunization issues.
Background:
Kaiser Permanente Georgia (KPGA) has steadily raised its adolescent immunizations rate to 65% for its current national NCQA 75th percentile level performance. The rates of the four other Georgia managed care health plans who do HEDIS reporting range from a high of 53% to a low of 37%. The State of Georgia notes adolescent immunizations rates for the private and public health systems it measures of approximately 50% through CDC CASA and AFIX reporting.
KPGA proposes to partner with the State of Georgia Department of Human Resources (DHR), to share its proven adolescent immunization practices and family practitioner community collaboration skills, and to use DHR's now fully implemented Georgia Registry of Immunization Transactions and Services (GRITS), to significantly improve statewide performance for adolescent immunizations to meet the Health America 2010 goals.

Project Description:
By pulling on the experience of all three organizations, the goal of the project is to address and improve through education, participation, and evaluation the following areas as they are associated with adolescent immunizations in the State of Georgia.
1. Improve data capture of adolescent immunizations
2. Increase practitioner/ HCT performance feedback
3. Member outreach / education
4. Enhance affiliated (network) practitioner compliance
5. Immunization tracking system
Results/Lessons Learned:
The results of the project include marketing approaches, monitoring and evaluation approaches, and organizational senergy in a private health organization and public health partnership.
