Project Description:
Standards for conducting AFIX have recently been issued that detail effective methods for implementing AFIX. This panel presentation reviews these standards and explores AFIX PLUS-one method for expanding the reach of AFIX by implementing peer-review procedures within a provider practice.
Results/Lessons Learned:
AFIX is a powerful method for improving provider vaccination practices when implemented according to the standards. AFIX PLUS is one method of extending AFIX and results in: 1) Increased surveillance 2) Improved Feedback fidelity 3)Improved partnership between Public Health and Provider Practice's 4) Improved coverage rates and decreased Missed Opportunities. Examples of effective and ineffective implementation will be discussed in the presentation.
