Lessons Learned from VTrckS Provider Order Pilot (VPOP) and Applied to VTrckS Development

Background: As part of the Vaccine Management Business Improvement Process (VMBIP), CDC is developing the Vaccine Tracking System (VTrckS), an information technology system that will integrate the entire vaccine supply chain. VTrckS is an enterprise-wide system integrating and tracking the purchase, ordering, inventory, and distribution of publicly funded vaccine. The VTrckS Provider Order Pilot (VPOP), a formal evaluation of the online provider ordering functionality proposed for VTrckS, began in  July 2009. CDC has captured feedback and lessons learned from participating grantees (California, Chicago, Colorado, and Massachusetts) and providers to apply to full VTrckS.

Setting: Immunization programs and select provider sites from California, Chicago, Colorado, and Massachusetts participating in VPOP.

Population: N/A

Project Description: N/A

Results/Lessons Learned: CDC will present findings from formal grantee and provider surveys, site visits, and conference calls and VPOP grantees will present a summary of their experiences and lessons learned from grantee and provider use of online vaccine ordering functionality and related processes such as end user identity proofing.  There will also be a discussion of how the results and lessons learned will be applied to full VTrckS development.
