Biographical Sketch:
Noam H. Arzt, Ph.D, FHIMSS, has been active in the IIS community since 1993 and has been an active member of AIRA since its founding. He has participated in IIS application planning and development including numerous system assessments and strategic plans. Through more than fifteen years of progressive management experience at the University of Pennsylvania, he understands how to develop, deploy and support systems on any scale. As a Senior Fellow and active researcher at Penn, Dr. Arzt served as principal investigator and senior investigator on Federal, state and foundation grants and contracts. In 1997 Dr. Arzt launched HLN Consulting, LLC, which has provided services and support to public health agencies around the country. Dr. Arzt is a Fellow of HIMSS, and a member of APHA, NAPHIT, and AMIA. He is actively involved in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Nationwide Health Information Network (NHIN) initiatives through his participation in Health Level 7 (HL7) and the Healthcare Information Technology Standards Panel (HITSP). A frequent speaker at national conferences on healthcare informatics and PHIN, Dr. Arzt brings a national leadership perspective to his company’s work.
