Biographical Sketch:
Currently an attending physician at the John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County and an assistant professor of medicine at Rush University Medical Center. Associate medical director for infectious diseases at the ACCESS Community Health Network in Chicago. He received his MD degree from Tulane University, where he earned a concomitant Masters of Public Health and Tropical Medicine Trained at Duke in Internal Medicine Completed his infectious diseases fellowship from Rush University Medical Center in 2005. 2002 to 2004, Dr. Huhn was based at the Illinois Department of Public Health as the Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer with the CDC. His research activities included outbreak investigations, infectious disease surveillance and infection control, and HIV and risk analysis. Recent publications appearing in various journals including New England Journal of Medicine, Clinical Infectious Diseases, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, and Vaccine, have included research articles on HIV and STDs, West Nile virus, yellow fever, monkeypox, legionellosis, myocarditis, histoplasmosis, and blastomycosis.
