Biographical Sketch:
August 2009 - present -- Surveillance Coordinator, CDC, Meningitis and Vaccine Preventable Diseases Branch, Atlanta, GA June 2004 - August 2009 -- Research Assistant, Atlanta VA Medical Center, Rehab Research & Development, Atlanta, GA Responsible for conducting research related to retinal degenerative disease, including retinitis pigmentosa and diabetic retinopathy. Also worked to create a murine model for the analysis of the retinal mechnisms underlying the development of refractive errors (2004-2009). Responsible for coordinating activities associated with vaccine preventable disease surveillance, including special projects for enhanced pertussis surveillance, as well as a research project aimed at validating laboratory tests for the diagnosis of pertussis.
