Iowa Department of Public Health, Adolescent Immunization Coordinator/Quality Assessment Coordinator, Iowa September 2007- Current
•Focus on strategies to increase vaccine coverage for adolescent immunization as well as implementing new vaccine recommendations.
•Incorporate adolescent vaccination into existing state programs, educate providers regarding new and existing vaccine recommendations, collaborate with assessment staff to evaluate adolescent vaccination coverage levels, and collaborate with professional organizations to promote adolescent vaccination in the primary and alternate healthcare setting.
•Assists in writing goals and objectives and develops evaluation tools for the annual immunization grant.
•Participates in educational seminars that include measurable goals and objectives for health care professionals.
•Provide advanced program planning while working closely with the bureau chief to write various Immunization Program strategic plans, procedure policy manual and vaccine redistribution plan.
•Provides consultation and education to internal and external customers regarding program policies, procedures, and plans.
•Works with the Immunization Advisory Group, healthcare providers and healthcare organizations in the development of plans.
•Provides and recommends policies and procedures for carrying out program plans consistent with Immunization Program goals and objectives.
•Monitor all VFC/AFIX staff pertaining to VFC/AFIX site visits.
•Coordinate all programmatic activities of VFC/AFIX site visit staff by assuring state supplied vaccine users comply with program guidelines as defined in the Iowa AFIX Policies and Procedures Manual.
