Biographical Sketch:
2008-present -- Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer (EISO), CDC, Atlanta, GA 2005-2008 – Public Health Staff officer in Air Force Medical Operations Agency (AFMOA), Washington DC. 1996-2005 – several assignments as Public Health Officer, United States Air Force Currently active duty Air Force LtCol assigned as EISO in division responsible for tetanus activities. Presented information on tetanus surveillance and epidemiology to new staff in our division this fall. Will submit an update on tetanus surveillance to MMWR for my branch after NIC conference. AFMOA responsibilities included disease surveillance/reporting and immunization policy for the Air Force. Worked with the Military Vaccine Agency developing policy/guidance/training on immunizations for DoD and recommending actions to increase vaccine uptake for all beneficiaries. Developed reports on immunization currency for Air Force leadership. Several assignments as public health officer prior to 2005 included responsibility for disease surveillance and reporting for my assigned base, including investigating reportable disease cases and recommending disease control measures based on risk factor analysis.
