Biographical Sketch:
1976-1994: Multiple roles in the department of nursing (staff nurse, manager) at the University Hospital in Louisville KY 1994-2005: Infection Preventionist at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville Kentucky. Responsible for program development and implementation. At that time, in 1994 initiated the first documented drive-thru flu shot program in the US 2005: published the only book outlining the "how to" approach for development and implementation of a drive-thru mass immunization program. This book has been provided, upon request, to healthcare facilities or public health departments in every state in the US 2005-present: Assistant Professor in the University of Louisville School of Public Health and Information Sciences. Has published more than 20 peer-reviewed articles in the area of infection prevention and control. Has worked with communities in Kentucky, Ohio, Texas and Indiana in development of drive-thru immunization programs.
